WELCOME TO THE GEOBLUE COMPASS ISSUE NO. 84!

View holiday video GeoBlue Wishes You a Happy Holiday Season!

This year wasn’t what any of us expected, but it reminded us of what matters. Watch this holiday message to see how we’re celebrating all the things we took for granted.

To honor the connection and responsibility we all have to one another, in conjunction with our Corporate Social Responsibility program GeoBlue 4Good, we have made donations to three nonprofits that are doing important work in our local and global communities to ensure a better tomorrow: Montgomery County COVID-19 Response Fund, Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard and the CDC Foundation Emergency Response Fund.

NEW! GeoBlue Business Traveler Member ID Cards

Later this year you may notice changes to our ID cards for our Business Traveler (medical) plans. While the cards may look a little different with a change in branding, it will still be the GeoBlue you know and love! The logo on the top left corner of the ID card, which is where the GeoBlue logo was found, will now have the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global® logo. The GeoBlue logo will now be seen in the bottom right corner of the ID card.

  • Members with Business Traveler ID Cards do not have their name on the card, only a Group ID number. To confirm member coverage, please contact our 24/7 Global Health & Safety Team for a Guarantee of Payment at [email protected] or +1.610.254.8771.
  • Other member ID cards for expatriates, students and individuals will remain the same.

During his bachelor’s degree he conducted research in coastal environments, detecting erosional patterns in Puerto Rican beaches, and geography education, trying to understand the status of geography in secondary education in Puerto Rico. He speaks English, Spanish and started learning Portuguese. Carlos joined GeoBlue in 2012 as a customer service representative, with prior experience in the workers compensation insurance industry, having worked with claims, billing and collections.

Before becoming the supervisor of the Provider Finance Department in 2019, he held several positions within GeoBlue in the Customer Service and Global Health & Safety departments. He completed a master’s degree in geography education from the University of Oregon in 2014, where he created a curriculum in island biogeography for secondary education schools in Puerto Rico. He also completed a second master’s degree in 2015 in geography with specialization in biogeography from West Chester University in Pennsylvania, where he studied the distribution patterns of native and non-native plants species. Carlos is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore. His research tested spatial thinking skills in university-level students in Singapore using a species distribution model. He is expected to complete his Ph.D. later this year. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, doing research, watching movies and spending time with his family.

Carlos, along with his peers in Provider Finance, works to resolve payment reconciliation questions from GeoBlue network providers. As a reminder, they can be reached by emailing [email protected].
